I wanted to make my brother a razor handle for his birthday, but he doesn't use a Gillette, so I couldn't use any kits. I ended up breaking apart a Harry's razor that I had, which is what he uses, and took the razor head from that to make him a custom razor.
I made the handle from one of Tim McKenzie's diamond dust acrylic blanks. I had to carve a hole for the razor head by hand, which was pretty tedious. Then when I was sanding the handle it snapped off the piece that was being held in the chuck. Sanding without a lathe is not nearly as enjoyable...
Overall I'm pretty pleased with the outcome though! C and c welcome.
