I've been the giant scale R/C plane route, but never developed an interest in cars. Just started getting my metal lathe, that I bought for making r/c mufflers, back into operation today. I don't know if it's big enough for pen parts, though, only a 54" bed. It's an old South Bend that needs some cleaning but still works.
I really love them Joe, but it's freakin expensive!!! Kind of a vortex like pen turning. I've been acing nitro for a few years and purchased an electric car this year to save money on racing. Somehow i've managed to sink a nice chunk of change into it. It seems like everything is a 100 here, 200 there, and etc...
Know what you mean. I considered myself a good flyer, but that attitude sponsors showoffmanship, like taking off across the runway, dragging the tail through the weeds, and a few other things to make fellow flyers nervous. All these funsiez add up to an eventual crash. There goes another c note or two!!!

We have a local flying club here that's pretty big. They just built a runway for the jets!! I love to watch them fly, but figured i'd stick to 4 wheels and dirt. As long as I don't break today it will be fairly inexpenssive.
