Today is the 6th anniversary of the day we made it legal so our rights would be protected when little Gunther arived. Beautiful ceremony at the house with a few freinds and family, vows based on green eggs and ham and a reception at the local brew pub......the perfect Alaskan wedding!

Thanks guys!.......just to be clear we planned Gunther and she was NOT prego at the wedding. Just reread my post and it seems like I was saying we "needed to get hitched right away". So hard to be clear with the writen word, for me at least.

LOL realized that on the reread! We had a ceremony back in 2000 but it wasn't legally recognised. When we decided to have Gunther I wanted more in the way of legal protection.........my in laws are hmmm well lets just say they are the last folks on earth I would want raising my son and the first that would try something if something happened to Tracy. So we needed to make our vows a bit more concrete before starting a family.

Wow should have worded my original post better! Didn't mean to put my family crap out there just wanted to share the joy of our day.......

My wife were married in Alaska as well and NO shotguns were involved either. But there might be a picture of me beside the wedding cake with a chainsaw. We had a ceremony with friends and family and also went to the magistrate to make it legal.

Our friend Bonita signed up to be a "Magistrate for the day", she preformed our ceremony. I have officiated 2 weddings, the kids are very much like grand children to me. One of the best things about being an Alaskan is this time around you get to pick the people that make up your "Alaska family"!

David and Kristina's wedding.....the only time I have ever been in a tux! BTW that not the bible in my hands, it's Hunter S Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas"!!!! They have a little girl named Ruth now.

Rick, you clean up pretty good! For a country boy.
Congratulations on your successful marriage to a wonderful lady. She must be to put up with two boys at the same time. I wish for you both to enjoy each other and yourselves as much as we have. God has blessed you with love and caring.
Charles

Isaac and Elaine's wedding at our house, I cooked for this one and made the cake as well. They have a boy named Isaac Jr. ("lil mo" for little Eskimo Isaac is from Georgia) They are in town from Nuiqsut right now. Elaine is prego with there second child and she is due any day, the nearest medical help is 8 hours by boat or sled then a 6-10 hour drive from there place so it seemed wise to spend some time in Anchorage.

Thanks Rick.......Alaska just got it's first "Olive Garden" Restaurant, one of the few things Tracy misses from the lower 48. We are going there then hooking up with Isaac and Elaine. Should be a very nice evening with the family.
