Not exactly what you would expect to find waiting for you at your back door in Illinois but happy to get them. Lol. A friend of mine goes to Kansas every year and his friend out there has a healthy number of prairie rattlesnakes on his property that he thins out and saves for me, 16 total. Now I need a day for these guys to thaw out so I can skin, dry and cast. Guess I know how I'll be spending my afternoon tomorrow. Lol

LOL, You should have been here when I told my wife I had them on the basement floor. Her response, "are you sure they are dead?" Mine " I hope so, they don't have any heads and are frozen solid".

I was able to skin them last night before I went to bed. To my surprise, one had a bird inside it and three of them were expecting and one very close to delivery because the 13 inside of her were 10 inches + long and had full markings. I don't know how they will dry or if they will be usable but I'm going to try some small 7 mm tubes and see what I can do. I'll post some pictures when I get them all tacked down.
I just wish they were copperheads... lol

Please tell me you're not going to cast the bird...

Here are some of them drying. It took me a long time to get them all skinned, scraped, and tacked down. I had to skin and freeze them until I had time to finish them. The first picture is of five of the thirteen young ones inside the large snake. The other is of the full sized to give you an idea of their sizes. Thankfully I'm done until next year. lol
