Some friends heard I was hand engraving again, and requested some floral motif bottle stoppers.
I like Ruth Niles' leaf-shaped bottle stopper fittings.
Steps:
18 gauge copper shapes cut with a scroll saw 3mm beyond the leaf fittings' edges; then lightly domed on a hardwood dapping block.
Cleaned well with acetone.
Hand engraved freehand (without graphic reference materials) using a graver ground to shape with Lindsay's universal template.
Painted with Copic and Blick brands alcohol inks, colors then heat set with a heat gun.
Domed with ArtResin epoxy, cured x 1 week.
Engravings then epoxied to both sides of the Niles leaf stopper fittings:
