yes, if you received odd email from me, don't open it. You can tell if it's me, because I don't send attachments without you already expecting them. My contact list, I keep it small, so not many of you will receive anything odd, but a few will or have. Stupid hackers. I could not deal with issue while at work on my berry. I will change my password again shortly to something much larger and more secure I hope.

If this is more than once you got "hacked", it's time to scan your computer for any virus, trojan, hijackers and keyloggers. If you have any of these, it might not be "hackers" getting into your computer rather your computer sending your information to them. Just changing your passwords will do no good if your computers tell them the new information.

I would also suggest installing a software firewall (like Zonealarm). It can be set to inform you before sending any emails. This way if you get infected and it tries to spam everyone on your contact list, you get a notice X amount emails ready to send. You have to approve them.

Shheeesss! I am so glad i have a Mac! sorry, im just glad that i dont have to deal with this kind of stuff anymore. My experience with PC was a nightmare, since my Mac i have been in heaven.

Sorry about your bad luck. Im sure you will get this figured out. Akula has some great advice.

I guess we're not as close as I thought we were:frown: (said with tongue firmly planted in cheek). as I didn't get an e-mail from you:wink:

I don't exactly know what all this means. I will have to talk to my wife about it later. For now, I sent a message to Panda which runs constantly on my machine and is updated every day and let them know what is happening to me.

Same thing happened here Jeff changed my password and then looked at sent mail and they showed up there. Frick hackers nothing a .22 would not cure

I'm pretty sure you are not on my contact list Roy. I know you sure were on the list, but when I got my blackberry and set up my email on it, I did something, and I don't know what it was, but it drastically reduced my contact list and removed a large amount of people without even asking me. Hey..I'm not techno man!

Mac and iPad were the fastest systems hacked at the Net Security Convention last year. Don't be too confident. Hackers are pretty smart and sleezy.

+1 - Sounds like you may have a keylogger.

Go to www.malwarebytes.com and download their scanner.

Then download a good firewall and virus protection software. Zonealarm is good. I also like Norton 360.

Jeff if it is your hotmail look at the sent messages online not from your pc microsoft has had major issues with it 3 times this year so far. I wiped my online contact list as they were the only ones that got the email from some site in Spain. Anyways you will probably find them there.

Akula the problem I have is it came from my online live mail account not my PC how do you prevent that?

Only strong passwords can help in this case...you can not control the server side and it's a risk almost all of us share. Once the server is compromised, we just have to try and clean up the mess.

15 characters, mix of numbers, special characters and text with no repeats...that is the DoD standard.

You can also download Rapport for free. Prevents all keylogging. Just be careful installing it, it wants to add some other stuff like Bing.

sorry to hijack but this brings up a thought to me...just think how little control we can have with our information once everything gets moved "in the cloud"

Try a hexadecimal password. They are very hard to break. I use a ten digit hexidecimal (0-9, A-F). It is beastly hard to break.
