Gunsmoke Christmas Gift for Friend

It has bee a while since I've posted here let along turned a pen.

This pen is a Christmas gift for a friend who is a big TV Western fan.

This particular pen is made from wood off the original set of the TV set of the CBS Western television series "Gunsmoke."

Gunsmoke, America's longest running television Western, aired 635 episodes form 1955-75. During that time, the sho won 5 Emmys and was nominated for 15. Other honors include the Golden Globes and Western Heritage awards.

This particular piece of wood was removed from the Long Branch Saloon set.

This pine wood was white when turned. I stained the wood with water based stain to get the desired color and topped in with CA. The kit is a Jr. Harold.

I know, poor choice of background.

Is there some sort of documentation for the wood? That would boost the value- monetary and sentimental.

Let me add- I recall watching the show when it first came on TV. Shows how old I am. One of the best TV series...much better than what is on now.
