One of the big things I like about this pen turning thing is that I never really have any idea what is in the blank until I get it turned and finished. Regardless of the wood and how many times I have turned it I never know what's in there.
I saw a thread here about Thuya Burl so I got a couple of blanks and just turned it like I knew what I was doing. Turned out pretty darn well. These are a couple of images (from an iPhone video, do that for most of the pens I turn so I can keep track of what I am doing) of a Graduate pen from PSI where I used the Thuya Burl. I had no idea what was in there so this was a total surprise for me. Sorry for the lower quality of the images, again, they are image captures from a video, not what I would do if I were trying to sell these things.
