I have a Grizzly G1183 belt/12" disc sander that I got a "steal" on, used ($300). Turns out that I couldn't stop the belt from dashing off to the right. Took my bargain to Grizzly, about 2 1/2 hr away each way. They put in new bearings, then found another problem. I had to leave it and pay for shipping back, plus an extra fee for the shipper to deliver it in a lift truck. :frown:

OK, enough sobbing. They fixed it and altogether I probably have about $600 in it, including travel. It has worked well, although the belt has always stayed close to the right side. Recently, without my ever touching adjustments, the belt started going off to the right again. I cannot get it to move to the left, no matter what I do. I'm guessing that there must be some other adjustment other than the knobs - shims, etc. - to compensate. Anybody ever have this problem and/or know how to correct it. Trying to avoid another LONG round trip to try to get it to work again. Russ

Always the same belt? Tried reversing the belt??
Just a thought.

Tried putting on a brand new belt. Just advancing it (or the old one) by hand causes it rapidly to go off to the right. I believe that, to get the belt to move to the left, the roller needs to move down on the left side. Setting the roller to go as low as it can, the belt still wants to go off to the right. Russ
