Been playing with pouring and turning acrylics on my lathe for a few years on and off and got bit hard by the fountain pen bug about a year ago. The idea of kit pens, while interesting in some ways, isn't for me beyond a one off present to family or friends. But oh my does the custom/ bespoke pen light a fire. Finally got enough of the extra tooling together to break out carbide tools and get turning this weekend. Excited to grenade a few blanks and put my knowledge to the test. I'm good enough with pigment, dye, and 2 part alumilite to offer some useful info. Working on learning what I need to make some decent hybrid stabilized and dyed burl for a personal project. And here we go this weekend with ebonite and acrylic rod. Might even have something survive well enough to post a completed pen by Sunday/ Monday evening.

Much regards,
~Drew
