Hello guys,

My name is Goran, I live in Croatia and I am just starting to turn pens.
My background is in making calligraphy pen/nib holders, traditional and ergonomic.
I hope to learn many things and get to know you guys.
The special technique that I use in my work is wire inlay in wood, as you will see in the photos below.
So, if you want to collaborate on a certain project, I offer my services :)

I knew a gunsmith that did wire inlays something like you do on flintlock rifles he made. Basically taking silver ribbon and drawing it through a pair of scissors And tapping it into a slit he made with a thin chisel. He put a little glue on it too. After a bit he filed off what stuck above. Is that something like you do? Your work sets you apart from others. Nice to see.

Hi Curly,

There is a lot of wire inlay in the gunstock works. I actually have a bit different technique. I do not use glue and I don't hammer the wire into the slit. That's because I use wire that is sometimes 0.15mm wide and therefore very soft. Otherwise, the basic principle of it is the same.
