I just joined, but I've been lurking a few days, soaking up advice, admiring the pens all of you make, and adding more items to my wishlist!

I've turned 3 pens so far. The second I turned was a European -- probably not a good pen for a beginner! But I took my time, and it came out pretty nice, and my wife latched on to it. I started turning balsa nosecones on a hand drill as a kid back in the 60s for model rockets, then progressed to a drill press, so turning isn't completely foreign to me (just the lathe is). :)

Nice to have you with us! Feel free to ask any and all questions - we were all beginners at some point and you will get lots of help here!

Lee, welcome and I firmly believe that you will find the lathe far superior to turning on a drill press. LOL IMHO
