Hey everyone, just wanted to let my online family know, there is a really good deal on Highland Woodworking's website at the moment. They are selling a 10" Rikon Bandsaw for $199.00+49.00 shipping it is normaly $299.00+s/h. I can attest that this saw is a great saw for those on a budget or just starting out, I have purchased a few for my son's over a year ago to put in their shops at home and I have had the opportunity to put them through the ropes. I have actually used the woodslicer bandsaw blades on these and was able to resaw large burls into veneer a little thicker than 1/64" I will include the link for those interested and on the site is a video showing removal from packaging and setup of the saw. This saw is very quiet, and very sturdy, for the $$$ its a bargain. I own my own business and have used saws made by Delta, Tannewitz, Grizzly, Crecent and craftsman. This saw is far superior to the little 12" craftsman I started with as a teen, (better than the newer deltas, the older stuff was great) Cant really compare it to my 36" tannewitz and 32" Crecent bandsaws as far as construction, those are tanks, but in performance, it can actually resaw just as well up to a certain size stock. Adjustments are easy and the saw includes a fence and miter slot. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up, this is a really good deal and you get a lot of bang for your buck!
