I've just made a new friend who runs a company that makes mops and brooms and adult diapers. I don't understand the adult diaper thing expect that they sell a lot of brooms and mops to nursing homes.
Anyway she gave me some mop/broom handles that they couldn't use because they weren't perfectly straight. So I made her a pen to thank her for the gift. She gave me handles made from several differnt types of wood - I don't know why I started with this one.
She tells me this is a South American wood called grapia. (it might be called cumaru of jatoba but she was pretty sure it was grapia.
This is my lacuer dipped over CA finish.
