Heard on a talk radioshow about this author. He wrote this UFO www.amazon.com/UFOs-Wartime-What-They-Didnt/dp/0425240118. He was retelling stories of people seeing UFOs in WWl, WWll and Vietnam. I just wondered if any of you saw any.
what tickles me pink most of the time is that UFO sighting are almost exclusively seen in the good ol US of A and almost nowhere else?
The other thing I find hilarious is all the exceptional photographs that have been taken to date. With all the sightings you'd have thought at least ONE decent photograph would have been published!
Secrecy bill? All those with decent shots were killed or jailed or worse...........kidnapped by aliens to be probed :O
I never saw a UFO nor did anyone on my ship ever claim to. Having said that we did track a Radar target one time that flew much faster than any air plane at the time should have even approached. We tracked it reported it's course and speed and wondered who was able to make a plane that fast.Heard on a talk radioshow about this author. That just ain't true Terry, UFO's are reported world wide, including outer space. There is a long list of countries where UFO's have been reported in the 20th and 21st centuries. I am not saying anything about how real they are or what they are but they are seen all over.
Prior to the middle 70's what you say is true. Since then not so. there are more reported in the USA then elsewhere but by no means a majority. Since 1975 about 38 sightings reported 15 from the USA. Prior to then it was probably affected somewhat by better communications in the USA than much of the rest of the world and a more open news media than much of the world.what tickles me pink most of the time is that UFO sighting are almost exclusively seen in the good ol US of A and almost nowhere else?

15/38=40%
2/5 seems like a majority to me?

I think you already know this but 40% is a plurality not a majority Terry - majority is more than half.15/38=40%

English vs American English also comes into play - nationsJust between me, Terry, and Smitty -- you are both right (sort of). By the definition in the Oxford Dictionary of English, majority does not have to be more than half if you are talking about a choice among three or more options. However, here we have an "A or B" choice (in U.S. or not in U. S.) which necessitates a majority being over half.
Same reason a hound dog licks his private parts Charles ----"Because they Can"Just a few years back, in '66, we had set up a telecscope at the college I was attending. I was lucky enough to be chosen one of the lab assistants. One morning about 02:00 I was called to the observatory to verify a UFO siting by the instructor. He got me out of bed for this. One of the other assistants arrived with me and we took a look at this UFO. Nope, not one, just Jupiter rising through the thick air. A couple of hours later we could even see the Red Spot.
Do other thinking beings exist in this universe? I can find no reason to believe otherwise, but if they are smart enough to travel the distances to get here, why would they? We're idiots, take a perfectly wonderful world and mess it up like we have.
Charles
Did we see things? Yes I think so, but the jungle plays tricks on you, and when you're scared to death and afraid somebody is going to hear you take your next breath and target you, who knows for sure, did I really see what I thought I saw? Or am I just too scared to see straight? God only knows. Was that really a UFO? To be honest, even today I really don't know!
