Did anyone else get a surprise update to Google Chrome that messes up more than it helps. Mine started opening up a new page with a task bar on it showing mail etc. It lets me hide it but it comes back. It takes up my whole screen and hides the task bar I want.
If you did do you know how to get rid of it

I use Google Chrome predominantly. No new page for me.

In Chrome you'll find what looks like a spanner or three horizontal bars in the top right-hand corner of your browser window. Click on this icon and select "More Tools" > "Extensions" > Disable or turn off any that may allude to a taskbar or toolbar.

It's called an App shelf for Windows 8 users and they sent it out with a known bug in it. We are supposed to be able to hide the shelf -but that feature does not work.

For what it's worth, I don't allow automatic updates on any of my computers - Mac or Windows. Not that that's a guarantee of not getting a buggy update, but at least I can control when updates do get installed.
