coworker sold me his craftsman 12 x 36 wood lathe with bench and everything you see in the photo's for $125! Best part is it has the same spindle as my Taig mini lathe so mandrels, chucks and collet chucks will interchange. Now for a live center and Jacobs chuck!

There's a lot of stuff there. I'd be interested to hear how the duplicator works if you ever put it into action.

Defiantly make sure the centers line up. Apparently a somewhat frequent problem with tube lathes.

Is that some kind of variable speed control rigged up there?

I will have to pull the duplicator frame off to check alignment this weekend.
THE switch is a reverse to run the lathe backwards.

I found one similar to that one (different brand) and was told the mono-tube lathes are junk. They flex and have alignment issues I guess.

Let us know if this is true once you get to try it out.

I had the same one, it's where I started. Mine was really worn and I couldn't keep the tail stock centered. Definitely check the center before starting. Also, it should be 1/2 or 3/4 horse. 1/3 will work for pens but not anything much bigger. Looking forward to see what else you can do!

1st lathe i ever had. It worked fine, i still have it, not hooked up but use it to hold things while i finish certain set ups. The only reason i stopped turning with it is that i could not find a small tool rest for it and it was clumsy to re position tool rest. Have not had the heart to get rid of it yet. Carl

I actually use a mono tube craftsman lathe made in around 1959. When I first got it (given to me free by someone who learned on that very lathe when it was brand new) I had a lot of problems with the tailstock moving slightly but at least on mine there is a set screw on the tail stock that as soon as I replaced I haven't had any problems since.
