I bought a medium size full face resperator a couple of days ago. Been using it while casting. I was having a hard time breathing in it. :bulgy-eyes:Thought I should of bought a large. Today I was helping my son clean out his rabbit cage. I grabbed the resperator and noticed there was a plastic piece inside the nosepiece. After I removed it the resperator fit better and I could breath...Go figure..

And to think he was one of the first lines of defense protecting our country! :bulgy-eyes:

I couldn't figure out why my brand new 12 guage only held 3 rounds. My uncle pulled the cap off the ammo tube and removed the wooden dowel. I was surprised, to say the least.

hahaahah:laugh: They didn't teach us how to wear resperators in the Navy. They of cared less if you wear one or not.....

That reminds me of the blood pressure machine my wife bought a couple of weeks ago to keep track of her blood pressure. She took her pressure for the first time and said "Well it's a little high but it's not too bad, 135 over 79 with a pulse of 77. She wanted to try it on me so when she finished she said, "That's amazing, yours is exactly the same as mine." I looked at the screen, leaned over and peeled off the plastic sheet that was showing the "sample" blood pressure reading:smile: Being married for over 40 years has taught me to say very little at times like that.

He was probably inhaled too much fumes from the rabbit cage before putting it on...:biggrin:

MAAs are a dime a dozen. Snipes wore them all the time.

I am glad I am not the only one. I got a new respirator to fit under my welding mask. Got it out of the package sized it, and could not breath for Sh** through it. One of my mechanics came over, after I took it off, took the filter off and removed the plastic wrapper from the filter. Wish I had figured that out myself.

Thanks Jim!! That made me chuckle as I have not been married as long but have experienced those types of moments.....

Actually made me chuckle enough that my daughter asked what I was laughing about.....She also laughed and asked if I was going to tell this story to my Wife.....I think I will pass....

Hey! I had to learn to wear a gas mask when I went through boot camp... one and only time I ever did, but then I was also qualified as a marksman with an M1 Carbine out of boot camp .... I'm pushing 70 and have yet to ever have an M1 in my hands or for that matter I don't think I've actually seen on... also as a second class petty officer I was required to be qualified with a .45... I wore the rank of 2nd class for over a year... I fired my first and last .45 in Jun or Jul before separation in August. I was qualified though... I fired three shots and hit my target all three shots.... 'course my target was the Pacific ocean off the fantail of the ship.

I was also qualified as a marksman with an M1 Carbine out of boot camp .

When I was a WAC in the early '60s we qualified with M1 Carbine, too. Since I had been a competitive shooter since Jr High, I wound up "assisting" with the beginners. Closest I've come to being shot in my life! "DOWNRANGE! DOWNRANGE!" Hardest part was convincing them to keep their eyes open when they pulled the trigger.

I have seen my wife's best friend walk into a glass door. She banged her head on glass trying to smell a flower. This is the same one that could not watch the Disney movie "Up" because how mean they were to the dogs. PS she is 34. She is not special needs incase you all were thinking that. I have plenty of weird things about her!

Just had one. My mother bought an outdoor light, so I just went over to install. Took the old one down installed the new one put all my tools away. My mother asked "Are you going to see if it works" my reply "mom please, this isn't my first one". So in all her wisdom she got her 90 year old body up and turn the switch on……. Nothing. Back to the car for my tools. Ok K.I.S.S……. power…..check, bulb seems ok…… two bulbs later still nothing. Ready to take it apart, and start over. Mom's advice read the directions…… My answer "Please". Just before I was to take it back down she said "why don't you check the sensor settings. My thought ???????????? Ok Alzheimer's setting in, back to disassembly. But wait there's a test button on the bottom of the light…… For the sensor it was a "sensor light". Put it on test works perfect. "YOUR MOTHER IS ALWAYS RIGHT".
Anybody needing help with pens….. She should have the answer.

Which way is down range??:rolleyes: I never even got to go to the range, but my service record shows that I am a qualified marksman with the M1....

While I was stationed on Guam, we had Typhoon Karen blow up the mouth of the harbor, wiped out the comm room in the admin building where I worked... so since all our transmitters were sitting in 3 inches of water, they decided to move us up onto a second floor in one of the unused barracks until they got the admin building back in order. Since we were now in an unsecured area, as the watch supervisor I had to wear a .45... I think it probably was brought onto the island during the marines landing in 1942 or so... I got no training on the use, handling or firing of the .45...just was handed the belt/holster and pistol and told to wear it. One midnight watch I was bored with nothing happening and not much to do, so I pulled the pistol out and started playing with it... I figured out how to eject the magazine, then how to dismantle the slide and eventually had the pistol laying about in pieces.... then I spent about 2 hours trying to figure how to put it back together... I prayed that I would never have to fire it.... I hope no one ever has had to fire it or if they did they had the good sense to take it apart and make sure it was back together correctly...
