Good day to all:

I am in a bit of a dilemma and need a quick tip.

Finished up a razor kit last evening and found I needed a touch of CA for the insert. In the process a dab of CA got on the blank (acrylic). In my attempt to remove it, the gloss from the polishing dulled.

The razor is 100% acrylic - no CA finish (other than my oooops which is now gone).

Suggestions to get the sheen back?
My selection of headstock options is limited to a jacobs chuck or the mandrel.

One thought is to remove the razor head and replace it with a bolt of the same diameter, then throw it in the jacobs chuck.

Other thoughts, please ... need to deliver tonight.

Thank you

PJ

Another "traveling man"

From another who has been from west to east...sounds like the bolt idea might just work...probably are gonna have to sand the whole thang...

Thank you for the replies so far .. to be clear the components are on the blank. Unless other suggestions for mounting the blank surface, that may need to be my course.

In order to not make that mistake again, instead of using CA glue to glue the part in, use 5 minute epoxy. If you get some epoxy on your blank, a quick wipe down with a wet paper towel will clean up the excess glue without the worry of ruining the finish on your blank.

I believe you can unscrew the head, pop out the bottom with a punch, then either punch out the top, or turn between centers eith the top insert still in. Run through your normal process from there.....
