Getting some work lights

So slowly buy surely I am getting the garage wired for electric thanks to a very close friend of mine and his dad. All the conduit is ran, and most of the wire, along with the cut off box, and the breaker box. In the mean time I have been running a heavy duty cord from the back of the house which isn't too far away.

Anyhow, right now when it gets dark in the garage all I have had are two options. 1) Two painter lamps or 2) A halogen work light. I opt for option 1 most of the time. Well my dad has some florescent shop lights which he is giving me 3 of on my way home tonight. Pretty pumped to get these things in there. I think they might need cords put on, but that is pretty simple. Just being able to use one for now until the shop is hooked up to its own power will be nice. Then I can have all 3 on and be able to see without clamping and moving lights around. One of these years I will get a picture of the shop up on here.

If they are not t8's then I would replace them. It makes that big of a difference. I have used incandescents, t12's, and halogens in my shop and nothing comes close to the t8's. Another thing that you would wonder how you lived without is t8 daylight bulbs. I can get standard t8 bulbs for free, but I pay for the daylight bulbs. It might seem like a small thing but the color of the florescent is a really big deal. I know a guy who owns a wood/metal shop and recently replaced all of his lights with daylight bulbs and he says its much less stressful in the shop and workers seem to be much happier and don't complain of eye strain nearly as often.

Geez, I wouldn't know what to do without the extension cords all over the place. But I do use ther T8s, all the outlets in my shop are on the ceiling, have no idea what the previous owner of the house was doing
 
I got the lights home. I took off all the covers and used soapy water in a bucket and sponge and washed them all off. I then took the lights (bulbs) out, the only thing I remember they said was "Cool" on them. I then used some 409 on the light fixtures and cleaned them up good. I made sure not to spray the connections. They cleaned up pretty good. I will settle for whatever they are because it is WAY better than what I have and free doesn't hurt either lol. The florescent lights will be so nice. My dad told me to wire them up to test that they work, so I am going to do that. He still has another 3-4 of them, so if I need another one I can get it.
