I really do enjoy cobbling old bits and bobs together to do weird stuff on my lathe but these days as my time gets more and more limited, I find that my free time is up just as I figure out a method. :frown: Or worse......I build a weird contraption only to find I need to turn something to finish it off...:mad:

Well, tomorrow that will all change!!! :biggrin:. I'm going to an open day at Warco Tools down south and have booked a milling machine to join me on the trip home !! The show discount swung it even though I'll probably use that up in fuel for the 9 hr round trip!!:eek:

Nice!! im still saving my pennies for that Bolton or Baleigh lathe I talked about last year. I have decided to go big instead of settling on something small first. You are gonna have a blast with the new addition.
I cant wait to see it all hooked up to your lathe!!

Have you designated a home for it in the man cave? The small part of the man cave you showed in the first picture leads me to wonder (based on my own shop situation) if you have a clear spot available to put it down?

You're gonna LOVE it!!! With the set-up you have now it looks like half your time is spent just getting READY to work, with a dedicated machine you'll have a lot more WORKING time.:wink:
 
Skip; Be cautious driving that far in one day. You will enjoy the mill.
You will need a friend or two to unload and set up the machine. Beer (ale) is usual payment around these parts.
 
Dinky small interesting little Mill the speed to 2 1/2 k may be fantastic for metal but I use mine at 30K for timber with a variable speed control had a good deal of success with Aldi bits in sets to get some that suit me for the savings in price of one conventional cutter for timber ie.
Mine is a real heavy Taiwanese Mill Drill that I do enjoy it gives me quite a workout manually moving the XY axis on the table by hand with the gibs firmed up no need for the gym.

Steven if your going to to cut wood I have pics of something I made to enable me to use a dust ex with my set up. Kind regards mate.
