Ok I need some help.

I put about 3 coats of thick CA on my pen, it looks good, even shines up pretty nice... then I throw it on my buffer with some white diamond... looks even better. So I bought some TSW to see if I Could get the gloss even better. Is TSW a friction polish or do I just put it on and buff it off lightly?

TSW is not a friction polish. Its more of a wax polish. The others here obviously have more experience than I do but. If you buff it too much it reaches a point of dimminishing shine. I prefer it to Ren wax. JMHO Ken

Chuck I use TSW as the very last step-----it just makes the pen look a little better and gives it a nice coat to protect the finish. I like TSW.

I use it as the last step for every pen, wood, acrylic whatever. It smells great and you only use a very, and I mean very small amout on each pen. I did not realize it came in an 8 oz. can. I get it from Arizona Silhouette. It comes in a 1 oz. jar for $17.98 and that will give you enough for 150 pens.

OK guys, the pot has been stirred, do not keep stirring it please! Trade Secret Wax is definitely a car polish wax as Frank has said. It is a different product than Trade Secret for Wood which is a wood wax available only from Arizona Silhouette. There are some on this forum that believe the 2 products are one in the same while the marketer of the wood version and others insist it is not. That is not for us to decide here on this forum. This is a very controversial subject and one that needs to be left alone. The wax that is being discussed is Trade Secret for Wood. Please limit the discussion to this product.

If anyone has a problem with my request, please don't hesitate to contact me by PM. Thank you!

chuck,

try using hut ultra gloss plastic polish inbetween the white diamond and TSW. if it's gloss you're looking for, that will give it to you.

as far as TSW application goes. just wipe a tiny amount on with paper towel or a nice cloth or whatever you want to use, really. let it sit for 45-60 seconds and wipe it off with a clean area of the cloth. i just buff with the cloth as i'm wiping it off just using moderare-hard pressure with my fingers. it really doesn't add that much more shine after the plastic polish. but it does seem to add a nice protective, great smelling coat over the top.

I will second the use of a polishing compound. I don't buff. It's my, very unproven, belief that MM 12K is a finer grit than white diamond. After the plastic polish I will sometimes use a polishing compound I got from Beta Diamond that is 1 micron and 1/2 micron grit.

Curtis, thank you. We definitely don't need to go there.
