Gel versus ballpoint parker style

Hi all

I was able to make my first two purchases over the weekend. The one individual said she would be willing to buy a couple more if they were gel rather than ballpoint.
Brings me to my question - I found some gel Parker style refills on PSI, are they interchangeable with ballpoint Parker refills? Although it will cost me a couple bucks to get them, it would be worth it to sell a couple more pens.

I have made pen kits that came with gel refills and pen kits with the regular ballpoint refills. The gel refills have a different feel and flow, but they don't last as long as ordinary ballpoints.

I bought Parker Quink gel refills and Schmidt Easy Flow 9000 refills as replacements. They are working out well. There are many types of Parker Quink refill, so pay attention that you get the gel version if that's what you want.

I was going to get the refills from rockler, just because I have a rockler near my house with some in stock. Anyone have any experience with the rockler refills?

Yes. It is overpriced and mediocre quality. Just think about it:
* It is made overseas in a factory whose primary goal is the lowest possible manufacturing costs they can achieve.
* It is the same quality as what comes in pen kits, not a premium refill.
* It travels on a slow boat from the manufacturer to a pen kit supplier's warehouse where it sits. It goes from there to Rockler's warehouse, where it sits in inventory. Finally, it gets shipped by truck from there to the store.
* It is a low-turnover item, so it sits on the store shelf for a long time before someone buys it.

What do you think? Find a source with a more direct sourcing, better quality products, higher turnover. Personally, I would look for direct mail order or an office supply store. We have a local artist supply store with the best refills, but I live in an a large urban area.
