I have a dumb question...what is in a gavel kit?
All the gavels I have seen are 3 turnings and a bit of glue to hold the head on the handle.... no kit required.

I've seen some gavels that have brass rings on them.

You could use brass tubing to make brass rings on anything. I buy it at a hobby store/
