I finally posted my first pen photo here. It's a copy of Jay's design in acrylic and aluminum. It's a fun design to build, and I enjoy the look of the finished product. The lower tube is longer than usual, from a pencil kit I believe.

Hey Bob!

I really like the looks of this pen! The use of that rare and beautiful dalmation decora is a nice touch! I like the design.

Nice combination,
I have a piece of aluminum bar stock tht I want to try and make a pen from scratch on my metal lathe with. mostly to get practice with the lathe. my son has more hours on it than I do now.

Scott,
Dalmation? I thought it was Holstein, and thus the reference to Gateway. A friend of ours was driving in the country, his son saw a Holstein, and said "Hey look Dad, a Gateway cow."

Hi Bob,

LOL! Yes, the hoity-toity crowd calls them dalmation - I just call them cow blanks! The pens I've made from this stuff are sure a conversation starter at craft shows, but for some reason I've never sold one! Need any more? [;)]
