Anyone used the Grizzly G0555, or the G0555P, which I'm guessing is only a different paint job for less $$$. Anyone know a real difference between these 2? May look into getting one of these with a riser kit. Anyone used one of these riser kits as well? What size blade do you have to buy after the riser kit is installed?

Thanks,

Emerson

I've had the G0555 with the riser kit since they first came out. Love it. The few times I've had to resaw something, I've used a 1/2" or 3/4" blade. Blade length goes from 93" without the riser to 105" (93+12) with the riser.

I bought my G0555 about 3 years ago and added the riser about a year later. Since I didn't know anything about band saws I had to do a bit of research. I primarily use it to cut logs into bowl blanks and have cut up to about 11" thick. The saw has never given me any problems. I have not made any modifications to it. Naturally I changed the blade to one for what I am using it for.

I found the set up instructions very simple and easy to follow both initially and when I added the riser. The hardest part was getting it into the basement.

According to Grizzly.com the G0555 and G0555P are the same saw except for color. The G0555P has an introductory price so it is (for now) less expensive.

FYI, if you do a search here on IAP you will find several threads where the G0555 is discussed. Several members have this saw.

Can't help too much, but I just took delivery and assembled a G0555 over the past week. It went together easily and purrs like a kitten. Hardly any vibration at all. I haven't put the riser on it yet though.

Thanks guys,

I am thining this is going to be a purchase here very quickly. Thanks for that blade length Mannie, as I will definately be buying a better blade than what is on it for resawing stuff. I mainly wanted to know if ya'll thought the white one was the same one as the green one, just diff paint. Guess I'll go ahead and cash in on the cheaper paint job!

Thanks for the info,

Emerson
