1. Has anyone used FRP (Fiberglass reinforced / resin plastic) in stabilizing or as a finish?

Would it work?

2. I have never used it except for a small kit many years ago. I see FRP in cans here in Japan but I always thought it was a 2 part mix. Having said that, I cannot find the 2nd part of the 2 part mix anywhere near the pints, quarts (liters) and gallons of FRP.
SO, Is FRP a one part or two part mixture?

Thanks for your insights.

Most fiberglass is done with polyester resins very similar to what most use here for casting pen blanks. The resin (same as the stuff we use) is usually about 50% polyester and 50% styrene monomer (the part that stinks). The styrene before it is catalized acts as a solvent or viscosity reducing agent and is also sold separately for just that purpose. It is 2 parts, but part two is just a few drops of catalyst (MEK peroxide) per ounce of resin. It should work.
