Fisher Space Refill Compatiblility

Hi Folks (and thank to many for the H'Bday wishes)

Anyone notice that he Parker-type Fisher refill makes the point protrude further? Am I supposed to trim the white adapter that fits on top of the Fisher refill?

Some times one needs to push the adapter on very firmly. Always worked for me in my regular carry to work pen. Will acknowledge that it was always Fisher refills so was not comparing or measuring.
