Well this is my first try at turning a yo-yo using the PSI kit and a spindle of South African Ebony. I think it turned out pretty nice all together. I used HUT Crystal coat and HUT wax bars. Let me know what you think.

Cool! Is it heavy enough to get smooth throws and long sleeps?

It sure is. The string needs to get used to being wrapped, but other than that it works pretty well. It's about 1.5 in diameter or so.

Awesome. When I get to the point of turning them, I wanna do them in acrylic and PR.

Yeah, my only fear on making it from that is when someone tries to walk the dog they will break its neck lol. I am sure I will do some for sure in PR or something, just afraid of it breaking with use.

I'll ask my brother-in-law Beer Boy about it. He's turned a few in acrylic, I believe.
 
I made one once and it was fun. Donated it to some charity auction at a school. I have another kit somewhere, I should try and find it!

Looks like you did a good job of making the two halves symmetrical.
 
We have a resident yo-yo expert here. His name is Ed Davison, his login is yo-yospin. His login has links to his website and videos. His sites can answer almost any question you may have.

Rumor has it that Ed made Moses first yo-yo. He has been doing it a while and is very proficient.
