Its bloodwood with maple and locally sourced walnut from around my area.

My father hung out with a tree trimmer that would cut the fallen trees into lumber. My father used to help him out and his payment was wood.

As I was getting close to finished size I lost a piece. :eek:

I had what I thought was a catch and I saw the piece pop out and land on my gouge. It then fell to the bench. I didn't panic since I saw it fall and i found it under the lathe.

I reglued it and then soaked the rest of the inlay with thin CA. I probably should have used at least Epoxy to glue in the blank, coating the inlay inside the blank and also probably used epoxy for the inserts. I was in a rush and needed some instant gratification.
