Here's my first ones that I've dyed. These are double dyed, green and blue. I'm quite happy how they turned out. The one on the right is before. After stabilizing, the blanks are more than double in weight.

Ken, should your headline not read......First try at dyeing... as dying means something else completely!!!!!!!!
Though I know that Americans like to change the spelling of some words.

Those look good Ken.
Seems there is always another avenue to explore with pen turning.
Now that you have your wife hooked, it will be interesting to see the items you post.
Nice to make some nice blanks for your wife to use on her projects.

Wow, those are excellent! That blue is almost iridescent.

And yes, dying would, you know...end in...death. 🤣 Dyeing would be the process of imparting dye into another material.
