First Segmented Relief Portraiture

Pioneered by Kerry Shirts. Using soft Maple or Poplar and quality modern wood stains. These stains used in conjunction with unstained, light colored wood can produce chiaroscuro effects. Relief to segmented pieces projects an illusion of depth.

I Used Poplar and four different wood stains and Scrollsaw for this Bobcat. Total of 120 pieces.
