first curly spalted oak pen

Here's the first one from the wild stuff! It was actually made from the group of parts that I first offered in the classifieds. Noone bid, so I microwaved a couple of pieces and here's the result. Pretty happy with the results. I didn't know where to put the clip. I may have to rotate is around to get it closer to this wild area.

Now thats a nice pen. How would you know how to dry the wood if you don't have a moisture meter?

Get yourself a really small weight scale, Weight Watchers type. Keep weighing the blanks till they don't loose anymore weight. Too much drying and the smell goes bad and you are banned from the kitchen for life![] Maybe that's good, maybe that's bad!
