First Cherry Rough-Out

Wet as wet can be. Didn't like seeing that knot in there
I did my best to stabilize it with CA Glue.
I was planning on making all six Cherry blanks into Ice Cream Bowls.
Got so bothered by the knot, that I think this is going to be to big for Ice Cream.
Unless you want to put a half gallon in it. LOL
Question, Do not like this cause problems for food utilities?

I concur, but sometimes they don't behave and pop out. And I'm wanting these to be ice cream bowls.

No bowl is too big for ice cream! I agree with Bryguy. Ice cream is my favorite veggie.

We'll I can't help you with the bowl issue but I do agree with a few of the others. I wasn't aware that there are limits on the amount of ice cream. In fact I'm puzzled that if a pint size container is one serving and there's 8 pints to a gallon why do you only get 4 servings per gallon??

Most ice cream is less than a gallon but the price is still the same. One brand is still a gallon, can't remember which one. My idea of a serving is one serving per container, no matter the size of the container. It's great if it's a five quart bucket! My ice cream intake is limited if the wife is at home.
Back to woodturning: love the look of cherry. It's one of my favorite woods to turn as I have almost a whole tree's worth in the shop. However, it will darken over time.

Worked on another Cherry blank. Decided to work it from the opposite direction and found good results. I didn't have to pre-debark this one.
