First Acrylic- unpainted tube

Is this what happens when you don't paint the tube black? It was black,white and gray as a blank. What kind of black paint should I use? (I use CA to glue the tube)

Don't paint it black. The clear resin will make the barrels appear to be black. I'd suggest a light gray or even silver. That will give you the distinct changes in color that you were (I'm sure) hoping for.

I like your pen congatulations' looks good mate' I paint the tubes about the same colour of the blank your useing.
