I just bought my first TruStone blanks (turquoise) and plan to use them with platinum kits for the Indian jewellry look. I bought micromesn and the acrylic polish (I forget the brand name) sold at woodturnerscatalog. Please, lay some drilling, turning and polishing tips on me so I don't ruin these $8 blanks!
Thanks in advance,
William

I would love to help, but I never did true stone. I assume it is similar to acrylic. If it is, just take some extra time, be patient, and use your turning tools very carefully. I use the backside of my tools when turning acrylics. It goes slow, but I don't cause mini blowouts. When finishing, you can use your MM to wet sand, just keep some water near your lathe. Then use your polish with a soft cloth.
If everything goes well, post a pic.

Good luck,

Thanks, Tim, I'll give it my best shot. WRT a picture, I am in the process of buying a digital camera. I have a friend who will take a pix if it is worth it.
