Finishing Spalted Maple pen blanks

I have to blanks turned from Spalted Maple. What's the best recommendation on enhancing the grain if I am going to finish with CA?

My preference would be to finish as normal, with CA - that will showcase the grain and spalting.

I usually use Yorkshire grit on wood pens and it really helps bring out color and grain in the final step before CA. Before Yorkshire grit when I wanted to bring out the grain in a piece I would rub it down with a little boiled linseed oil before I put my CA on. If you are applying a CA finish, with either method, make sure you have it wiped down really good first.
