I've just finished turning an El Grande ebonite blank but am unsure on how to finish it. Do you just sand and micromesh and not put a finish on it? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Darrell Eisner

That's what I do. Part of the draw of ebonite is that even though it's smooth enough to be shiny, is still has a little bit of "Feel" to it. Any finish takes away from that. I do buff mine after mm, come to think of it.

Anyone who wants to work with ebonite should read Kurt Huhn. Some of these "Pipe guys" really have a lot of knowledge!!

Kurt (and others) share their knowledge freely--take advantage of that opportunity!!!
