finishing mesquite blanks

What do you guys use for finishing Mesquite blanks ? I want to get a glossy finish . I wet sanded then used mm but could not get a nice high gloss finish. Joe

Are you applying any type of finish other than just sanding? I have had great results with poly. I havent tried C/A yet but dont forsee a problem in using it.

On my wood blanks I dry sand to 600, apply 6 to 8 coats of BLO/CA and then buff on the white diamond and carnuba wheels, after the pen is assembled I finish with Ren wax.

Mesquite is forgiving -- Enduro, lacquer, CA, etc -- it takes them all well.

The all need be level cured and polished for high gloss.

Love to turn mesquite!!!!
