I have been finishing my acrylic blanks by wet sanding all the way through to 8,000 micro mesh then applying the hard carnuba wax that comes with the Beall Buffing System, but I have not been using any other part of the system. If I want to use all three wheels and the stuff that goes on them, should I be sanding all the way to 8,000 or is that a waste of time?

Marc,

For what it's worth, I use the Beall Buffing System on all the writing instruments I make. I use the white diamond and carnuba wax only.

When I bought the kit, I was told that I wouldn't need the tripoli buff because I would run the risk of taking off the finish. The advice was probably true then when I was starting out; now, I'm not looking to reinvent how I do things.

Good luck.

Matthew
