Simple question here. I recently had an antler pen crack in 2 places. My question is do you think a CA finish may help it hold up better? I haven't done CA finish yet, I am planning on it this weekend. I have shellawax and 3 wheel beal system but I am just not happy with results. Thank You for guidance and replies. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the great mitten state

No glue will help hold a crack together, regardless of the bonding agent used.

Crack often occur from these materials being stress beyond the point of no return. Often times heat is the problem in cases like this. Heat will cause the finish to not be as shiny and have that extreme pop that it could have had it not been over heated.

Not only is the work that you do on the blank important but how it was handled and processed before you got it.
