Many of you know that my finish of choice is dipped and buffed lacquer. After playing with the plexi finish over the last few weeks I decided to use my dip technique with the plexi mixture. Pretty [8D] idea I thought. BIG mistake!!!!!! The stuff dries so quickly it traps air bubbles like crazy! [:0][B)] I was hoping it would just flow down and dry fast. NOT! It would make for a smooth finish if it weren't for all the air bubbles. Oh, and for those thinking, "Why don't you just evacuate it real quick?", that won't work because evacuating the mixture causes it to boil. Ever see boiling water? What do you see? BUBBLES, so that would just add to the problem.
So now I need to strip the finish off and do it right. Oh well, live and learn.
Try it if you wish, but be forewarned.
