Finally Got around to turning Pheasant

Pheasant on an elegant beauty. I'm very pleased with how it came out overall. There is a tiny speck of brass tube showing through the feathers. Very tiny and only seen in very bright light. Other than that she's a beauty.

If you haven't turned one of these yet, it's a quick & relatively easy way to produce a very nice pen. Just make sure your tools are very Sharp.

This is a beautiful pen! The idea of casting a bit of nature beyond wood truly sparks an interest. Also the combination of the kit and the blank look amazing!

Didn't cast it myself. It's one of the John Underhill Feather blanks from Exoticblanks. Casting my own blanks is probably something I will try in the new year.

I think those feather blanks we get from JohnU are actually from golden egg laying geese. They do very well for us!
