Final reminder on what to bring to MPG

Just a few last minute reminders,
1) There will be an instant gallery table. Wood turnings and pens only please.
2) Pens for the troops collection.
3) Pen swap
4) Pen blank swap
5) Pen contest, judged by the MPG Founder, Greg Cozad
6) 50/50 tickets with the cash going to the Union Hall
7) Ball-o-blanks guess. $2 donation to the Union Hall will get you a guess at the number of blanks in a ball. Closest guess wins the blanks. Hint, it's a bunch!!!!!
8) And most importantly, be ready to make new friends and have fun.

I'm pretty sad this morning to wake up and find out I'm going to Indy instead of gathering. A driver is ibjured and there's nobody left to go finish his work. Had my car loaded with blanks and lots of pens to trade. Didn't care about contests..just wanted to meet everyone.

I was supposed to get a bonus for getting my wife hired this payday. I expected it last time and when it wasn't there they told me I would have it today. Well that was money we planned to use to go Saturday, eat, and buy stuff with. So it was either have food for two weeks and gas for work, or go to the event. I am ****ed and sad at the same time. Jeff, & Ed, were two of the top people I was looking forward to meeting. I had blanks all set aside to swap etc. Most importantly I was giving a ride to Chris. I feel like a real heel. I keep telling myself that means more shop time, but it isnt raising my spirits any. I even made a pen for the troops to take last night. Such is life and being responsible. I mean, I don't think my mortg place would understand if I told them I wanted lots of money to go to IL this weekend lol, so I won't be paying you.

Sorry to hear you can't go either Jeff, and sorry for those I have let down. Well I hope you all have a good time and a successful gathering.

Uh, Greg will only be judging one category, The Founder's Choice. Other than that, another category, People's Choice, will be determined by attendees. The other Threes classes, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced will all be judged (yet to be determined/selected) by a panel of pen turners in attendance.
