I turned my first acrylic tonight. it was a freebee from AS, Black gold or something like that. really neat looking stuff but it has some small voids in several places. I wet sanded up to 600 and the voids are starting to fill up, Should I wet sand with CA and then sand it all off and then polish? I didn't think you could do CA on acrylic?

Samuel,

FWIW, I would clean the blank completely with compressed air. Fill the voids with CA and let it set without accelerator. That way, it should be completely clear. Then sand and polish.

My opinion, other's mileage may vary,

Please forgive my ignorance. It is not acrylic it is a dyed BEB. the blank looked black but is a very dark green.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just got a new camera, Pictures coming soon.

<br />Samuel, I would still go with Cav's method, but that's just what works for me.

Thanks for the back-up, Billy. I prefer the depth the CA fill gives over that of sawdust and CA. Of course some voids are large enough to demand a sawdust fill, but I like CA alone on small voids.
