take a trip to Walmart and get a small window AC unit. At least then you can cool one room to survive in. Personally, any time it is over 90.......I am looking for shade and a breeze.

It's been unusually hot here as well. On average we only have 9 days a year where we hit 90. This year I think we are at about 20 days. We don't have a/c so it is not unusual for the house to get well into the 80's when it's that hot out.

Yea here in Vancouver, you can count the days over 90 to be in the 10 to 20 range and in the 100's you can count on one hand and some years we don't get any. I think tomorrow if it does hit 100 it will be 3 maybe the 4th.

We have a company picnic at a park tomorrow. My job for the day will be keeping my wife from melting.

Which park? I grew up in North Portland. Fortunately a lot of parks in Portland have lots of trees. I remember when I was a kid and nobody cared about water wasting the Fire Department would come out on hot days and open up fire hydrants for us to play in. I lived close to Peninsula park, there was the swimming pool, the fountains and they were always watering so we had the sprinklers. Those were the days, we would ride our bikes around town with our BB guns and nobody cared. We used to water the yard and make the grass into our own slip and slide, until my sister stepped on a pop top and cut her foot. Yes that really used to happen, not just lyrics to a song.

It's not hot enough long enough to get an air conditioner. I have never lived in a home with an air conditioner. If it gets too hot I will just hang out in the frozen food section at the local store in my speedo.:biggrin: Now there's a visual that even I won't be able to forget.

One week ago here, the heat index was 125*F.
It was 85 at 4:30 AM. So hot, I didn't bother to go buy groceries.
They would have spoiled by the time I got them home.

North Clackamas in Milwaukie. Luckily our apt has central air but we will be there from 2 to 8 today.

Your lucky, you will only be there during the hottest hours of the day.

I've had to pick and choose what times I can leave the house with all this hot weather! When I'm turning now, I had to stop every so often to dry off my safety glasses from drilling on them!
