Feathers: which and where?

What are the best kind of feathers for casting into resin to make blanks, and where do you get them? I bought some synthetic hair extensions in Amazon thinking they might work, but actually they are awful.

try Michael's. they have a bunch of colored feathers for crafts.

Be careful of natural feathers, there are a lot of restrictions on them due to people harassing the birds.

Another safe place is fly tying shops.

Or if you just want to try it to see if you can do it or even like doing it, you can find your standard pheasant (picture window) feathers on Feebay for kinda cheap and they look nice.
