Could someone post a step by step to the process of making a blank with a feather in lays? I have seen many out there that look amazing and would like to practice up for making on myself someday.

Are you looking for information on blanks using actual bird feathers or the wood/acrylic/metal inlays that Eagle created that are commonly referred to as "feathers?"

If you are looking for the actual feather blanks, this tutorial seems fairly complete-

I cannot help you with the Eagle feather inlays. You can wait for others to chime in, but I would be surprised if any of his secrets are revealed.

Actually looking for just that with the multiple feather inlays. I just came across the tutorial myself. Thanks :)

I am concerned with the vacuum sealed system for degassing. I have a CO2 set up for my homebrew kegs so making a pressurized container would be easy but doing the opposite would be my challenge.

Anyone have any suggestions?
 
Try it without vacuum or pressure.

I have made a few using Don Wards bubble free casting technique and it worked quite well. I will try to find a link.
 
Dang it! That is way too easy! I'll admit that I hadn't spent that much time trying to figure out how to get those inlays, but I never imagined that it was that simple.

Different angles and depths give a bit different effect

Eagle used a built up section for the inserts commonly light with dark on the outsides.
