Favorite Pen, Not made by You

I was checking out pen world and I got to thinking I wonder what pen makers favorite brand of pen is. Whats your favorite manufactured high end pen? You dont have to own it.

A toss up between My Parker 1939 Senior Maxima with a semi-flex long nib for desk work , that pen never leaves my desk and my favorite carry pen , my Parker "50" Falcon Flighter . The Falcon has one of the smoothest nibs out of any fountain pen I have ever used (I got REAL lucky with this one) . I also have a 1939 "51" that I enjoy using .
 
I would say my 1936 Scheaffer Lifetime Balance with a rare superflex nib, or either of my 1930's Wahl Dorics with a working adjustable nib. As of new pens...any Pelikan.
 
The most enjoyable for me is my Conway Stewart No 15 with flexible 18ct nib - I dont write with it much because its a pain to fill.

Wahl-Oxford is another fav of mine but also a pain to fill.
 
A pre-war 51.

I went to the Pelikan store at the mall a few weeks ago and played with a couple of pens. I'm sooo not impressed.
 
I have a pen made by Jonathon that he gave me for officiating his and Shea's wedding. One of the first modified Majestics he ever made.
 
Does it have to be high-end? I discovered the Uni Laknock about 4 years ago in Japan, and I looooove it. Writes well, comfortable in my hand, and the ink refill lasts a long time. At that time I was writing out many pages a day, and I found that for the first time in my life, I really cared what I was writing with. Now, I can't go back to crappy ballpoint pens.
 
This is a tough one for me, but the old-style Omas Paragon wins. I have three of these and they are wonderful! A close second is the Stipula Etruria. I have three of these as well. All are awesome pens!

I have two pens obtained in swaps on the IAP - they are my prized possessions.

I do not have the money to buy fancy pens, nor the inclination to spend money on luxury items that I can't afford. Luckily, a few people around here do have the money to spend! :smile:

I'd like to know more about this Uni Laknock. Is it the same as the Uni ball in Office Depot?
 
Andrew , not all good quality fountain pens are really expensive or luxury items . There are a number of good vintage pens that sell on ebay for under $20 , pens like NOS Parker "21" that can be purchased for $15 to $20 or a new Pilot Varsity for $5 . these pens are good writing pens and in some cases can be better then any of the standard nib kit pens that we make .

It looks like the external design has changed a lot, but I assume the refill is the same. And they work waaaaay better than Bics.

Poking around there, I see the Laknock SN-100 series looks a lot more like mine, so that's probably what I have. Same refill though, so either one should write well. I found I liked the medium a lot better than the fine.

A good question. It's a click pen, so it may be necessary to cannibalize one for the mechanism. Or maybe it would just fit in a kit click pen? I haven't made a click pen, so I may be way off-base here.

I actually have several favourite pens made by members here and it would be unfair to pick just one as I love them all.
I do however have a 'scalloped' ultra cigar that is ALWAYS in my laptop bag, made by one DF. :biggrin:

I do have a couple on my wish list, but no matter how much I bribe Landon, he never gets the swap names right!!!:biggrin:

I forgot about Skippy!

I am privileged enough to have two of his pens, and love them both. The Red White and Blue ballpoint is in my laptop bag at all times, and the pool cue rollerball is on my desk at home.
 
If I had to choose a manufacturer it would be Visconti as well.

But, I have been fortunate to have several that have far more value to me than any pen made by any manufacturer. Pens by Bruce, Jeff, Keith, Akbar...all jaw droppingly exceptional artists and freinds.

But my favorite still has to be this one...

Does this mean that I'll get my Star Trek and other pens back???:confused::wink: Very first Alchemy blank ( name by me) custom pen. Mixed by you, turned by me. The other Alchemy series blank pen???, the Star Trek Rassiken flute pen????, the Star Trek Enterprise pen???:frown: LOL, you broke my heart Dawn!!!:frown::biggrin:

Of course, if you don't like the Star Trek pens anymore then please visit the Star Trek fans forum in Moscow ( Russia ) as they are offering SERIOUS money for both of those pens. :wink::biggrin:

My LE MontBlanc grande FP. It's 18k gold plated over sterling silver and the cap is turned from a single piece of genuine malachite.
 
Having seen the pictures of Skippy's creations , I'd have to say if I had one it would definitely be one of my favorites.

I have 4 Eagle pens and these are at the top ,one Skippy pen and two Jeff Powell pens that are all equally second favorites of mine.
