This came out darker than I had thought it would, but I like it.
I also noticed that the new kits I am using have changed in that they are now a 2-start thread where it used to be a triple start. And the threads seem a lot tighter.

BTW, I know what you are thinking...the grain doesn't match up!

I'm not sure what happened but I'll take it apart and fix it soon as I get the chance.

Hi Dale,

I enjoyed your segment at the MPG in Ohio.

Would you refersh my memo4as to which kit you use. I believe it is the Jr. Gent II

Also, do you have a feeler for cigar bands

Thanks again, I did learn a lot at the MPG

Thanks all.
Terry, yes I used a Jr Gent II kit.
There are other kits that work as well. I recently did one using a Venetian kit from Arizona Silhouette.
Tomorrow I'll have this one reworked with the corrected grain pattern aligned and I'll take more pictures.

Beautiful work Dale. After watching your demo several times I know the amount of effort and skill involved.

Well done.

Thanks fellas. I still enjoy the challenge.
After taking the upper section apart and reworking the grain alignment, I realized it was correct before. It is a case of the burl grain having so much pattern that it does not easily show alignment. Looking at the backside of the pen details the alignment better. Even though I take a very small amount out during the cutting, if I cut out half of a small knot or detail, the other half looks out of place.
